About Me
What is Bella’s Beautiful Life?
Bella's Beautiful is a place of creativity, inspiration, and innovation. When I started creating the Bella’s Beautiful Life Blog and Bella’s Designs I knew that I wanted to build a business where I could offer my art and products to people who enjoy handmade and exclusive items. In addition to sharing my art and writings, I also wanted to offer inspiration to others who feel like it’s their calling in life to follow their own dreams professionally. I strongly believe in following my own path and doing what I love in life which for me, means being my own boss as I pursue my many interests. The best part of all this is that it is built on what I love, it provides me with an outlet for my creativity, and it gives me the opportunity to help others at the same time. I want others to see that if you are willing to take the time and work hard, it is possible to make your dreams become reality and make a living doing what you love.
My story + Why I started Bella's Beautiful Life
I was raised in an artistically talented family of professionals who believe in enjoying the simple pleasures of life: creativity, nature, animals, previously loved items, reading, and cooking. Growing up in this environment, molded me into someone who finds inspiration in nature, the random, and in the small often overlooked things of life.
I have always loved reading, so throughout middle school and high school, I focused intently on my writing, and started learning everything I could about being a writer and publishing. I read so many books on writing and publishing that I lost count. This led me to winning several awards for my poetry and short stories while I was still in high school. When I was 14, I wrote my first novel.
In high school with some help from my mom I started two Etsy stores. The first store had pretty and chic items, while the second store featured edgier items. I offered a small variety of products such as watercolors, art prints, handmade bears, and upcycled clothing. My family encouraged me to pursue the things I love and continue running my own business, but I had other interests I wanted to pursue in college.
College and the Beginning of Bella’s Beautiful Life
I kept the Etsy stores active through my first years of college, but I considered them a hobby so I didn't spend much time promoting them (and honestly I didn’t really even know the right way to promote them). Although I loved creating things and writing and believed I could be successful with them, I was doubtful I could actually make a good living off of them.
During college I started working more on my art and learning about business on my own. I decided I could have a business and run it on the side while I worked a "regular" job after graduation. I’ve been fortunate to have parents who taught me about entrepreneurship and leadership, but I still had a lot to learn about running a creativity-based business. I spent countless hours doing research and learning about business, art, and the world of blogging. At the end of my first year in college, I got a website hosting package so I could start my own blog. And that was the beginning of Bella’s Beautiful Life.
By my third year of college (senior year), the boring reality of the typical 9 to 5 work life began to creep closer. I love trying new things and being creative/innovative and I realized I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life working a dead-end professional job doing repetitive tasks I didn't really like, and then hardly have the energy to do what I actually loved. I began to think more seriously about my parents’ advice and decided that if I was going to work hard, I might as well be doing it for my own business. After I graduated in 2016 with my third degree (a bachelors), I got serious about building my own business and started to work over fulltime on making my dreams become reality. I now own and manage multiple businesses and side-hustles, and just about every day I learn something new. I'm excited and joyful for what is to come and I hope you will take a little time and follow my journey and watch some of the randomness and highlights of my life and work!
